Water, Water Everywhere – But Now I Have To Pee Every Hour

Always looking for a new activity to fill our work days, a few girls from work and I have decided to make a few goals to keep track of. Each day we successfully follow the rules, we get a colourful sticker! Oh, what fun.

My goals:

1. Drink five glasses of water each workday (blue sticker)

2. Work out (yellow sticker)

3. Take my vitamins (red sticker)

4. Eat a vegetable or a fruit (green sticker)

As of right now, I have three blue stickers, two yellow stickers (walking really fast counts), on red sticker and six green stickers. I’m actually surprised – I didn’t know I was doing that well with eating my veg.

There’s no prize for the gal with the most stickers, but if I’m doing really well, I will totally institute this rule.

Yo – You Wanna Save Some Dough?

I’m not sure if it’s the idea that things start over in January that gets people thinking about saving money, but there’s definitely something in the air. I’ve written several articles for She Does The City during the past few months about saving and making money, and it’s totally been on my brain. In fact, this past year has been really focused on paying off my debt and earning additional income.

By saving money and a few good strokes of luck, I’ve actually been able to pay off all my debt, start a Tax-Free Savings Account and start and RRSP within the past year. I’m still not sure what all those terms exactly mean, but it feels pretty good.

The best part has been that I’ve had people influencing me and helping me out along the way. He has always been pretty financially savvy, so that’s been a huge help. For Christmas He also bought me two fantastic books that I’m just plowing through – The Wealthy Barber and The Wealthy Barber Returns. Both books explain financial tips and tricks in common sense terms that even I can understand. Okay, except the section on wills and life insurance, but hey, you’ve always got to have a goal, right?

Wow, it certainly has been awhile, hasn’t it?

Now, I don’t want to get your hopes all up and stuff, ‘cus this blog post is going to be very lonely, what with the last one being so far behind, and the next one surely being far ahead. But I just couldn’t help it. Our blog looked so sad and alone!

And really, it should be the opposite. We’ve been up to a buttload of stuff lately, hence our desire to blog about it lessened, as we had to be out DOING the stuff that we were hoping to blog about.

Anyways – here we are. We have some cool ideas for posts coming up, such as “Entries from my page-a-day diary” and “What search terms were used to find out blog in the months we didn’t write in it that are super weird.”

I TOLD you there were super cool!

But for now, dear readers, let me retire to sleep, which is what I was trying to do before I thought of our blog and how lonely it must be. Goodnight moon, goodnight blog – now, Go the F*** to Sleep.

Going through a Rough Patch

Hey everyone. Him and Her apologize profusely for the lack of daily updates over the last few weeks. We’ve both been super busy at work and play now that the summer has arrived in Toronto that we haven’t been able to find the time to blog as often as we had in the past. Maybe there’s some seasonality to our blogging output… I certainly wouldn’t doubt it.

It’s just that I always told Her that I only want to have a blog if it’s not a chore to come up with posts. And that’s exactly, kind of what happened. I’ve just been finding that there are always other things that I’d rather be doing than blogging when I’m home. I’m not saying that it’s always going to seem like a chore to me, but for right now it has. It should pick up once we’re not as busy.

Anyways, we’re assuming that blog posts will probably be a bit less frequent until the end of summer, but we’re going to try our best. There are still lots of topics that we need to communicate to our loyal readers, hopefully they’re forthcoming.

Attention Readers, We Are Experiencing Minor Delays

Wow – we are so, so sorry. One of the most important things they taught us at school (I clearly didn’t find too much of it invaluable), was that if you’re going to have an online profile, you’d better learn to keep your online profile.

As in don’t start a blog and then stop it.

Oops.

But hey, we’ve been busy. Super busy actually – we’ve both been working some crazy hours as of late, and our social calendar is pretty much booked solid. We’ll fill you in on all of our fun activities, including the best hamburger I’ve ever eaten (it was AWESOME), we promise.

In the mean time, please excuse me. I have to get back to work.

Today, I Make Money For Free

Finally – my dream has come true. A friend has decided to open her ING account, and get herself $25 sweet, sweet dollars. Which means, I get $25 dollars too. And, it means that she can now refer people and also get $25! Also – I just found out that if you refer $10 people, you get a $50 bonus. The more people you refer, the more money you get.

AND – THEY MADE US A WIDGET FOR OUR BLOG! It’s kind of exciting.

But – I can’t get it to work.

Dammit.
